Contest Rules for Wiggins Family Reunion Baking Contest
1. Contestants can be any age or gender. 2. Contestants may have more than one entry, but can only win one (1) prize. 3. Submissions must be home cooked (NOT store bought). 4. Your entry must be made from scratch—no mixes or store-bought entries, please. 5. Types of desserts that may be entered:
7. All submissions will become property of the Wiggins Family Reunion Activities Committee. 8. Contestants may work individually or with a team. (Prizes will be awarded to 1 member/team only, NOT each individual.) 9. Judges will view and taste your entry as it is presented. Baked items will then be cut as uniformly as possible for the public tasting/judging, as needed. 10. Please identify dishware with your name and phone number on the bottom so that it can be returned to you. 11. Please take your dishware with you after the event. Please submit your entries no later than 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 5, 2014. Judges will be family members/reunion attendees who wish to sample and assign a score to each entry. Judging will take place between 1:00 – 3:00 pm, and after all votes are counted, prizes will be awarded to contestants with the highest number of votes. Here are a few more updates - to help you plan ahead for the activities and events:
1) NO mail-in payments will be accepted after Saturday, June 21. Please note that payments should be received by June 21 - NOT post-marked by that date. NO EXCEPTIONS. Any registration arrangements after this point will need to be handled in person on July 3-4.
2) Late registration does not guarantee a t-shirt as extras will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis for $10 each. 3) Please send Wendy Tait pictures of deceased grandparents, uncles, aunts, etc. for the dedication page on the program for the Friday night banquet. Her contact info is [email protected] 4) Please send pictures for the pictorial family tree to [email protected] 5) We are very excited about the activities for the Saturday cookout. We plan to have field day style games for kids - with prizes, flag football for kids and adults, a cake contest, popcorn/sno-cone machines, and an inflatable jumper and water slide. Fun, fun, fun!!! The deadline for registration is May 16!!!! Don't forget to send in your registration forms and fees. Can't wait to see everyone in July!
